FAQ - About Part Design

Q1. How can i create a 3D text?

  • Open a New 2D drawing (switching the workbench to "Drafting"; just starting with a blank sheet) (Fig1)

  • Select "Text" on the toolbar "Annotations" and click somewhere near the origin; Then enter any texts you want in the textbox (Fig2)

  • Save the file as DXF format and close the drawing

  • Open the DXF file and you will see that the text has been converted into lines. (Fig3)

  • Select and copy all the lines (Fig 4)

  • Back to your existing 3D model or start with a new 3D

  • Go to "Sketcher" workbench and paste all lines onto the sketch. Then you can use the sketcher's command to reposition /resize the geometry (Fig5)

  • Exit the sketcher, and use "Pad" command to make it into 3D (Fig6)
